Kimberly and Lawrence exchanged their wedding vows at the exquisite Four Seasons Resort Hualalai on the Big Island of Hawaii. The celebration lasted all day long – starting with an early morning ceremony and ending with Lawrence carrying Kimberly over the threshold of their room. Toby was there the whole day through capturing each spontaneous instant as it transpired; the result: an array of diverse photos that tell the full story of Kimberly and Lawrence’s peaceful wedding day.
The weather was perfect from start to finish. In the morning light, the colors are always vibrant and Toby captured the natural turquoise water, bright blue sky, and rich green foliage. Watch the light evolve in the photos as the sun rises and falls, finally sinking into the ocean but not without first producing a spectacular sunset display. Can you can see the different tones and subtle changes in light and color throughout the day?
Because of their long celebration, the couple was able to take advantage of the many diverse sites on the Four Seasons Resort grounds. They held their ceremony in the Palm Groove, their Cocktail Hour in the Lava Lounge and finally, their reception in Pahu i’a Restaurant, which was just named the best on Hawaii Island by the 2011 Zagat Survey. Additionally, Toby was able to captured some great shots of the cake cutting and the couple’s guests enjoying the dessert bar! After dinner, the couple leisurely put their feet up in their room before taking an evening stroll with Toby along the beach where they discovered a few resting Hawaiian Green Sea Turtles.
Because of the extensive amount of time Toby was able to spend with the couple, he also captured many of the special details and personal touches Kimberly and Lawrence incorporated into their wedding day. Their elegantly designed wedding programs doubled as fans to help keep their guests cool. They had personalized escort cards, seating cards and wedding favors and the beautiful ceramic pots that adorned the tables were handmade by the bride’s mother – all of which Toby documented in his photos so the couple can remember every detail of their wedding day.
